1. Geographical Location:
Nansha is located at the geometrical center of the Pearl River Delta. Ten large and medium cities of Guangdong Province are within a 60 km radius and almost all the cities of the Pearl River Delta are within a 100 km radius. Hong Kong is located only 38 nautical miles away, Macao only 41. Nansha is conventional located in the center of the area's five international airports; located in Guangzhou; Shenzhen; Zhuhai; Hong Kong and Macao

2. Transportation:
Roads
Nansha has an excellent highway system, which include three major highways: (1) Guangzhou Hunan Express (also know as Yingbin Road and Nansha Avenue) (2) Guangzhou - Shenzhen Highway and (3) Beijing Zhuhai Highway via Humen Bridge. The 65km Nansha Port Expressway connecting Nansha Port to Luntou, Guangzhou has also recently been completed. Major road projects include Shinan Road reconstruction, Tingjiao Interchange, Fenghuang Avenue and Jiaomen River beautification project.
Ferry
There is regular ferry service from the new Ferry Terminal with Hong Kong (currently five round trips daily), a 75 minute trip.
Subway
Subway connecting Nansha with Guangzhou, which should be extended to Nansha's Toyota Plant by the end of Dec 2006. This will connect Nansha with Guangzhou University to the north, and from there with Guangzhou's metro subway network.
Port
A major new deep water port is being built in Nansha, which when fully completed, will rival Hong Kong in size. The first phase: four 50 thousand-ton-capacity berths was put into operation in September 2004. Its first year¡¯s container-handling capacity has reached a total of 4.0 million TEUs in 2005. Plans are underway to increase container-handling capacity to 4.0 million TEUs by 2006. Terminal 2, with 6 additional berths and a capacity of 100,000 tons is currently under construction; 2 of them will be put in use at the end of 2006, the others by Oct 2007

3. Water Supply:
The new booster pump station has made it possible to supply a daily maximum 250 thousand cubic meters of water, a sure guarantee for total domestic and industrial use in the whole area.

4. Electricity Supply:
Two newly-erected electricity substations operating at 11 thousand volts and one power plant with a capacity of 100-thousand-kilowatts have guaranteed sufficient power-supply to the entire area.

5. Telecommunication
The Telecommunications Tower is able to accommodate 6 million IDD lines. Modern telecommunication equipments have also been geared to the needs of the modern society.

6. Economic Development
Nansha Economic & Technological Development Zone has unique natural endowments and an unrivalled investment environment. On July 23,1996, the State Council approved Nansha Development Zone as Class-A open port in China, and on November 20,1997, the State Government approved Nansha as a national pilot base for industrialization of high technology, while in the same year, Nansha was listed to the ranks of ¡° China¡¯s Top 50 Development Zones with Excellent Environments for Investment¡±.

In its short history, Nansha has already attracted many Chinese and foreign investors to launch companies here. Up to recently, 206 foreign-invested companies have been launched in Nansha by investors from 18 countries and regions around the world, including the major multinational companies like the American General Electric, Japanese TOYOTA and Germany BASF. Nansha is now playing an increasingly important role as a pivotal point to boost the economic development in the Pearl River Delta area
