1. Geographical Location:
Chang'an is located in the south extreme of Dongguan City of Guangdong Province, it borders on Shenzhen Special Economic Zone to the east; Pearl River Estuary to the south; Humen, the ancient pass to the west; and Lianhuashan, the scenic spot to the north. Chang'an covers an area of 83.4 square kilometers٬with Guangshen Expressway, 107 State Route and C358 Provincial Route cutting through it, is the south gate of communications among Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen.

2. Population:
There are 35,000 local residents, 600,000 floating population available for work and more than 30,000 overseas Chinese in ChangˇŻan.

3. Transportation:
ChangˇŻan has 17 high-grade trunk roads; including ZhenˇŻan Road, Changqing Road, and First and Second Ring Road; Guangzhou - Shenzhen Expressway ChangˇŻan overpass, and public bus service to major cities within Guangdong Province.

4. Water Supply:
Chang'an's three water purification plants currently process 68,000 m3 of water daily, which is far below the capacity of more than 400,000 m3 per day.

5. Electricity Supply:
ChangˇŻan currently has two 220 thousand volt substations and four 110 thousand substations, with an annual capacity of 40.5 billion kva.Electrical wire (10kv - 134pcs) embraces a network of 583km; including 259km of under-ground cable and 3708 transformer sets.

6. Telecommunication
Chang'an telecom network provides service for more than 180,000 program-controlled telephones; providing service for land lines, mobile phone, wireless paging, telex and fax.High-speed and large- capacity information transmission platforms including special network, multimedia information network, ADSL network have greatly facilitated the process of information communication in ChangˇŻan.

7. Economic Development
By the end of 2005, ChangˇŻan had attracted more than 1600 internationally funded enterprises with a utilized foreign capital of 30 billion US dollars.Privately run economy booms here with 703 private enterprises and a total investment of 21.2 billion, among which there are big names such as BBK and Founder. The main industries include electronics, apparatus, hardware, toys, shoe making and garment making.

The GDP was 133.7 billion Yuan in 2005, an increase of 15 % from the previous year; the total industrial value of output was 201.5 billion Yuan, an increase of 18.3 %; and total exports were $ 41 billion, an increase of 21.9%; the tax income was 17.1 billion, an increase of 22.4%; the annual income per person is 15896 Yuan, an increase of 15%; the social consumption turnover reached 18.8 billion, an increase of 9.1%.
